The Process.

We have the skill and experience to manage every aspect of your home project, making the process both efficient and enjoyable. We've created a system of simplified and streamlined communication between our studio and clients or their builders, so that our clients can focus on the fun part of the design. With 15 years of experience, we have developed our own interior design process to help clients navigate both the construction and furnishing phases in an organized way.

 

Phase One:
Design Development

We'll begin by documenting your existing space/furnishings with photos and measurements and drawing the existing conditions. We'll send you a Client Questionnaire to complete and ask you to share Pinterest boards with imagery to get a sense of your personal style. We'll discuss budgets and determine the functionality of each space. Then we'll create spatial layouts and design schemes for each space. Our designs are developed over a series of visual studies including mood boards, plans and elevations, 3D visuals, and physical material samples.

 

Phase Two
Drawings & Specifications

Once we have determined the design concept for your space, we'll develop detailed architectural drawings including plans, elevations, and 3D visuals. We will also create detailed schedules with specifications for the finishes and fixtures that have been chosen such as lighting, plumbing, hardware, and tile. We will provide your architect or builder with these documents and work closely with them to communicate the design intent. We will also meet with them on site to review our designs and answer questions to help them create their construction estimate.

 

Phase Three
Procurement & Purchasing

As part of our full-service interior design, we act as purchasing agents, providing all of the furnishings and decor for your project. We will send you proposals for furniture, lighting, window treatments, wallpaper, and decor with estimates and lead times. Once approved, we create detailed specifications and schedules, place the orders with our vendors, track the status of the orders, and manage the delivery to our professional receivers who will inspect all deliveries for quality control and store the items until installation day.

 

Phase Four
Project Management

We maintain a close relationship with your architect, builder, or contractor throughout the construction phase, performing regular site visits as we oversee the implementation of our designs. We provide and oversee our own trades such as window treatment fabricators, painters, wallpaper installers, and upholsterers. We'll coordinate these trades and installations with your builder's construction schedule so that everyone is on the same page about what will be happening when.

 

Phase Five
Installation

This is the exciting part! Once your builder has finished the construction, we will have the space professionally cleaned to prep for our final installations. We will install furniture, window treatments, artwork, and accessories. We'll also schedule a photoshoot with a professional photographer for the last day of installation to document our work. Then it's time for the Project Reveal where we will do a walk-through of your finished space together.
